According to a statement released by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on June 28, Tehran will adopt a tougher stance toward vessels violating the terms of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States regarding the control of passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims the strait falls under its jurisdiction.
