#My Gate Trading Moment

Among the countless back-and-forth battles of buying and selling, there is always one trade that completely reshapes an individual's investment logic. It may not be the highest-yielding trade or the most devastating loss, but it can instantly awaken you and help you find a market trading rhythm that suits you. I have been actively trading BTC spot and event predictions on the Gate platform. Recently, the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has continued to escalate, with Trump publicly warning Iran that if the Lebanese armed forces keep provoking conflicts, the US will strike far harder than last week. The risk in the Strait of Hormuz is rapidly heating up. Currently, BTC is quoted at $64,513, up only 0.42% in 24 hours, with the market maintaining a consolidating and wait-and-see stance throughout.
Looking through my trading records, I previously followed the trend of popular Meme coins, blindly entering with heavy positions after seeing short-term consecutive surges. After initially profiting by luck, my mentality inflated rapidly, and I kept adding to my positions, completely ignoring the project fundamentals and overall market risk. Eventually, the market quickly reversed, not only wiping out all profits but also causing a significant drawdown in my principal. This trade served as a wake-up call. After that, I adjusted my trading system: strictly building spot positions in batches, never exceeding 15% of total assets in a single position, avoiding frequent futures operations, and setting take-profit and stop-loss levels in advance.
Recently, the World Cup has seen a series of upsets, with Cape Verde drawing with Uruguay and Iran drawing with Belgium. The prediction market has seen a surge in high-odds results, and many traders around me are eager to enter for short-term gains. Drawing on my past experiences of falling into traps, I have remained rational. Match results are highly accidental, and I won't blindly bet on high-odds options just because there have been many upsets. At the same time, on-chain coin theft incidents have been frequent recently, with the Taiko treasury and Ethereum's top arbitrage bots successively suffering hacker attacks, resulting in cumulative losses of millions of dollars. When interacting with contracts daily, I repeatedly verify the contract address to avoid the risk of asset theft.
Recording my trading experience on Gate Square is essentially a process of review and sedimentation after each trade. There is never a permanently accurate market judgment, only a continuously improving trading system. I also want to give some advice to newcomers entering the crypto market: the market never lacks trading opportunities. Only by preserving your principal can you establish a long-term foothold. Abandon the speculative mentality of getting rich overnight and establish your own trading rules. That is the core foundation of long-term profitability.
