ME News: On April 23 (UTC+8), tens of thousands of people gathered outside Samsung Electronics' main chip production base, demanding a larger share of the profits generated by the AI boom. Police told local media that about 30k people participated in the rally held in Pyeongtaek, a city in southern South Korea—home to Samsung's large semiconductor complex—while organizers put the number at 39k. The Samsung union is demanding that 15% of the company's operating profit be allocated to chip division employees. Based on this ratio (over 40 trillion won, approximately $27 billion), each employee on average could receive more than $400k. (Source: BlockBeats)
