ME News reports that on April 23 (UTC+8), tens of thousands of people gathered outside Samsung Electronics' main chip production base, demanding that employees receive a larger share of the profits generated by the AI boom. Police told local media that about 30k people attended the rally held in the southern Korean city of Pyeongtaek------the site of Samsung's large semiconductor park------while organizers said the number reached 39k. The Samsung union is demanding that 15% of the company's operating profit be allocated to chip division employees. Based on this ratio (over 40 trillion won, approximately $27 billion), each employee could receive an average of over $400k. (Source: BlockBeats)
