ME News reports that on April 23 (UTC+8), CertiK senior blockchain investigator Natalie Newson pointed out that in 2026, the main security threats in the crypto space will come from real-time deepfakes, phishing, supply chain attacks, and cross-chain vulnerabilities. As of 2026, hackers have caused over $600 million in losses to the industry, including the Kelp DAO vulnerability incident in April (loss of $293 million) and the Drift Protocol theft incident (loss of $280 million), with North Korean hacker groups suspected of being involved. Newson warned that the development of AI will make attack methods increasingly sophisticated, resulting in more realistic deepfakes and autonomous attack agents, but AI can also serve as a defensive tool. To mitigate risks, CertiK advises investors to verify the authenticity of URLs and use cold wallets to store assets. (Source: MLion)
