Espresso releases SNARK prover Flock, Bitcoin post-quantum proofs can be completed in 2.5 seconds.

ME News reports that on June 26 (UTC+8), blockchain infrastructure Espresso, together with Succinct's Ron Rothblum and NYU scholar William Wang, released the SNARK prover Flock. Espresso states that this is currently the fastest SNARK prover, with Flock's performance approximately 3 times the benchmark for Ethereum's post-quantum transition given by Vitalik Buterin, and for Bitcoin it can complete the signature hash proof for a single block in 2.5 seconds. On a consumer-grade laptop equipped with an Apple M4 Max chip, Flock can perform 661k Blake3 compression operations per second and 338k SHA-256 compression operations per second, being about 9 times faster than the previous fastest solution Binius64 on SHA-256, and about 14 times faster than Binius64 and Plonky3 on Blake3. The team revealed that Flock is still a research prototype, and the development used AI programming assistants such as Claude Opus 4.7 and 4.8, and it has been open-sourced. (Source: Foresight News)
