Fu Peng: In the future, we will see traditional financial institutions quickly entering the crypto market.

ME News reports that on April 23 (UTC+8), Foresight News reported live from the 2026 Hong Kong Institutional Digital Wealth Management Summit that Fu Peng, Chief Economist of Xinhuo Group, stated, "My connection with crypto began in 2022, and I have been continuously monitoring developments in the crypto industry since then. The big players in the crypto circle are similar to those in traditional finance—early on, it requires gaming, and those who can truly shape the future are those who quickly pivot when a turning point arrives. In the future, we will see traditional financial institutions rapidly entering the crypto asset market. When the two merge, the market logic will herald the arrival of a new era. At certain stages, technological progress coexists with turmoil in the world order and institutions. In the 1970s and 1980s, we experienced the Cold War, the Middle East war, the dollar's oil crisis, the surge in gold prices, and systemic de-anchoring. But human civilization is always about opportunity; risk and opportunity go hand in hand. While global order was in chaos, our computers, semiconductors, and information technology were also rising. By now, when all of us have begun to realize that AI, data, and computing power will become the most important productive forces of the next era, the game is already half over. And the entire first half is what everyone knows as the traditional crypto circle. Nothing remains unchanged; everything is constantly restructured and reborn in the process of development."
