ME News, April 23 (UTC+8), the temperature sensor of the French Meteorological Office at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport showed abnormal readings on the evenings of April 6 and April 15, with temperatures rising abnormally in a short period. Around 9:30 PM on April 15, the sensor recorded a temperature of 22°C, while the highest temperature that afternoon was only 18°C. These abnormal data are related to weather bets on the Polymarket prediction market platform. Someone manipulated the sensor readings to make what was considered unlikely temperatures become reality, thereby profiting. The French Meteorological Office has discovered the anomaly and filed a lawsuit. The Vice President of the Infoclimat Association stated that initially, everyone thought it was a sensor drift or maintenance issue. Additionally, a crypto KOL revealed that a man used a hairdryer to interfere with the aforementioned temperature sensor at Paris Airport, making $34k from the Polymarket weather market.
