Abstract generation in progress

BlockBeats news, June 26 – Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 network supported by Coinbase, has resumed block production and transaction processing this morning after an outage of approximately two hours.

The Base team stated that the network has now returned to normal operation, with internal nodes syncing properly, but the root cause of the failure is still under investigation. Meanwhile, the team recommends that ecosystem node operators restart Base nodes to restore synchronization status.

The outage was first noticed at 00:03 this morning, when Base indicated that the mainnet block production status was "unhealthy." At 00:52, the team confirmed they had identified the issue and initiated multiple remediation measures. This incident temporarily halted transaction processing on this major Ethereum Layer 2 network.

As of now, Base has not disclosed the specific cause of the abnormal block generation, nor whether the incident was triggered by a software vulnerability or consensus mechanism-related issue. It is worth noting that Base previously experienced a network outage in August 2025.
