A man used a hairdryer to interfere with a temperature sensor at Paris airport, earning $34k in Polymarket weather markets.

ME News, April 23 (UTC+8), the temperature sensor of the French Meteorological Service located at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport showed abnormal readings on the evenings of April 6 and April 15, with temperatures rising abnormally in a short period.

Around 9:30 PM on April 15, the sensor recorded a temperature of 22°C, while the highest temperature that afternoon was only 18°C. These anomalous data are related to weather bets on the Polymarket prediction market platform, where someone profited by manipulating sensor readings to make a temperature that was originally considered unlikely become a reality.

The French Meteorological Service has detected the anomaly and filed a lawsuit. The vice president of the Infoclimat Association said that initially, everyone thought it was a sensor drift or maintenance issue.

In addition, a crypto KOL disclosed that a man used a hair dryer to interfere with the temperature sensor at the Paris airport mentioned above, profiting $34k on the Polymarket weather market. (Source: PANews)
