Base is dropping the Beryl upgrade today and I’m honestly pretty hyped about it.

This is their second big network jump after Azul, and it’s all about making onchain assets way smoother.
The star of the show is the new B20 token standard, basically a native, super-efficient version of ERC-20 baked right into the chain.
Key upgrades coming with it:
• Much cheaper and faster token transfers
• Built-in compliance tools like mint/burn controls, freeze, and allow lists
• Faster withdrawals to Ethereum, down to 5 days
• Better node performance overall
Issuers can now spin up stablecoins, RWAs, or whatever with way less hassle and no extra audits for basics.
Everything stays fully compatible with wallets and exchanges we already use.
The whole ecosystem is gunning to be the go-to place for real onchain assets.
