ME News, June 25 (UTC+8), Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman recently stated in an interview that concerns about AI causing massive unemployment have been greatly exaggerated. He believes that AI may change the way half of white-collar workers operate, but just like the proliferation of Microsoft Excel, new technologies reshape work while also creating new job opportunities, rather than directly eliminating positions. Additionally, Garman emphasized the important value of junior employees in the AI era, noting that they possess stronger willingness to learn and adaptability. It is reported that Amazon will hire over 11k junior software development engineers and interns globally this year. Garman added that in the future, when companies recruit, "learning ability" and "adaptability" will be more critical than candidates' "existing specific skills." (Source: ChainCatcher)
