The new @NEARProtocol upgrade is built specifically for agents.


The upgrade is called SPICE, and it pushes block times close to the physical limit of what a blockchain can do.
It involves a total of 3 upgrades:
→ 3x faster blocks, dropping from 600ms to 200ms
→ Transactions confirm in 0.4s, faster than swiping a Visa card
→ More transactions processed at once instead of in a queue
Future unlock: complex multi-step transactions settle as one action.
Tbh, I've been watching NEAR ship for a while: Intents, chain abstraction, and now SPICE.
The part most people forget about is that NEAR burns 70% of transaction fees.
If agents start using the chain at scale, that activity flows back to the token. Big if, but the setup looks solid.
