🛡️ StarkWare Launches “Private KYC” on Starknet Using Zero-Knowledge Proofs StarkWare has unveiled a demo of its new Private KYC system on Starknet,

allowing users to complete identity verification without exposing sensitive personal data.
🔐 Instead of uploading full passports, addresses, or personal documents, users only need to prove the specific attributes required — such as:
• being over 18
• or possessing valid identification This is achieved through zero-knowledge proof (ZK) technology.
⚡ User identity data remains encrypted and stored directly inside the user’s own Starknet wallet.
Verification providers can only read the onchain verification result — they never gain access to the raw personal data itself.
🧠 StarkWare says this approach differs significantly from Sam Altman’s World ID model because:
• users fully control their own identity data
• instead of relying on a centralized intermediary to custody sensitive information
📉 The launch also comes amid rising global concerns around data security:
The U.S. alone recorded more than 3,300 data breaches in 2025, up 79% compared to five years ago, with average damages estimated at $4.4 million per incident.
🌍 Privacy-preserving identity systems are increasingly being viewed as one of the most important use cases for blockchain and zero-knowledge technology.
