The Trump family has been granted "permanent" immunity from existing tax audits.

ME News, May 20 (UTC+8): Under an agreement, U.S. tax authorities will be barred from filing lawsuits against Donald Trump, his eldest son, and the Trump Organization to prevent the president’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS. The commitment made by the Department of Justice on Tuesday came one day after Trump agreed to settle his lawsuit against the IRS in exchange for the U.S. government launching an $1.8 billion fund for relief for victims of so-called “lawfare.” On Monday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced the launch of a fund intended to help those who claim they were victims of unfair investigations and prosecutions by previous administrations. The move drew strong criticism from Democrats and raised doubts among some Republicans on Capitol Hill. On Tuesday, Democratic Senator Patty Murray accused Trump of setting up a “secret fund to line his own pockets and profit his friends.” On Monday, Trump said he had not been involved in setting up the fund and that he “knew very little about it.” (Source: Foresight News)
