ME News message. On April 23 (UTC+8), Microsoft Foundry recently released the managed agent (public preview) within Foundry Agent Service, aiming to address the challenges of securely deploying large-scale agents in enterprise environments. The core of this service is to provide a dedicated, isolated, enterprise-grade sandbox environment for each agent session, featuring a persistent file system, built-in identity and governance, and support for any orchestration framework or runtime. Key features include predictable cold start times, support for scaling down to zero (no charges during idle periods) with complete recovery of file system state after a restart, automatic session isolation based on virtual machine isolation, built-in virtual network support, production-ready endpoints, and multi-protocol support. The platform does not lock developers into a specific framework; developers can use LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, Claude/OpenAI/GitHub Copilot SDKs, etc., and deploy environments with a single click after defining them via a Dockerfile. Also released are Toolbox (public preview) for unified tool management and Memory (preview) to provide agents with long-term memory capabilities. (Source: InFoQ)
