A crypto empire worth $300 million was busted in Thailand



It all started quite mundanely: someone decided to steal electricity for mining, and it ended with police uncovering an international network involved in money laundering, gambling, and scam call centers

As a result, over 6,000 miners were seized, and among those detained were organizers from China and Myanmar

So these were not just guys who “set up a couple of ASICs in a garage.” Judging by the scale, mining was used as part of a large financial scheme where crypto was not the goal, but a convenient channel for laundering dirty money
