ME News Report, June 24 (UTC+8), Iranian diplomats stated that due to Trump's unconventional style of conduct, they have been studying "The Art of the Deal," co-authored by Trump and journalist Tony Schwartz in 1987. The book recommends negotiators make extreme and unpredictable demands to create anxiety and force the opponent to make concessions. Iranian negotiators previously told intermediaries that they consulted a team of psychologists to help understand Trump's mindset and attempt to predict Trump's public reactions to Iran's proposals. Political analysts and mediators have said that Trump's high-profile and tough stance has yet to yield additional concessions from Iran. Mohammad Amersi, an Iran expert at the Wilson Center think tank in Washington, stated, "Trump is employing strategies from 'The Art of the Deal,' testing the other side's resolve through extreme threats. But Iranians are very clear about his tactics." An individual familiar with Iran's diplomatic negotiations in Switzerland said that there are no psychologists among the Iranian negotiating team, and Iran prefers to avoid psychological speculation about Trump's motives or decisions.
