Prediction platform Novig announced that it has appointed Elie Mishory as Chief Regulatory and Legal Affairs Officer. Mishory previously served as Chief Regulatory Officer and General Counsel at prediction market platform Kalshi; before that, he held leadership roles in the Market Supervision Division of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and served as an advisor to Commissioner Brian Quintenz, participating in the drafting of statements regarding sports event contracts. Recently, Novig has been certified by the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market (DCM), and Mishory will oversee all of Novig’s regulatory, compliance, and public policy functions in his new role.

Novig recruits former CRO of Kalshi, this move is quite aggressive. CFTC background + DCM license, the compliance moat has been built.

Just got DCM to reinforce the team, it seems Novig really wants to grab Kalshi's slice of the pie. In the prediction market sector, compliance teams are more competitive than product teams.

Elie Mishory's path from CFTC to Kalshi to Novig is very clear—he's mastered regulatory arbitrage.
