Oman Coordinates with IMO to Open Temporary Navigation Route through the Strait of Hormuz



June 24th News: At dawn on the 24th local time, Oman issued a statement saying that, given the country's responsibility for the Strait of Hormuz and the strait's importance to the global economy, and based on compliance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, ensuring free passage through the strait without tolls, as well as the results of negotiations and diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran, Oman has coordinated with the International Maritime Organization to open a temporary maritime route for all ships. According to the arrangement, the relevant route will operate according to navigation coordinates published by the IMO and Omani authorities, and ships planning to use this route need to coordinate with the IMO in advance.
