Retail investor: I'm gonna wait for the perfect entry before I sell any puts.

Me: How long you been waiting for "perfect"?
Retail investor: About 6 months now. Nothing's lined up just right.
Me: The perfect entry doesn't exist. While you wait for it, you're collecting exactly zero premium.
Retail investor: But I don't want to sell at a bad price.
Me: You don't need perfect. You need a great company below what it's fair value & a strike you'd be glad to own it at. That shows up constantly.
Retail investor: So "good enough & cheap" beats waiting for flawless?
Me: Every time. I'd rather get paid on good setups all year than wait forever for one "perfect"one that never comes.
Don't wait for a perfect entry that doesn't exist...
Every month you wait is premium you'll never collect.
Please don't get me wrong and take this for reckless.
The point is, the perfect setup will never happen.
Good company, fair price, glad to own it. That's enough. Don't complicate it.
