ME News Report, June 23 (UTC+8), Microsoft announced on Tuesday that its first data center facility in Mount Pleasant has been completed. The facility completed equipment deployment and commissioning in April and is now fully operational, marking an important milestone in the company's ongoing investment in southeastern Wisconsin. The facility was announced in May 2024, with nearly 10,000 construction workers actively involved over the past two years, completing the project ahead of schedule. Currently, there are nearly 550 full-time employees on-site supporting operations. Microsoft and its contractors are actively recruiting, and the number of employees is expected to continue growing over time. Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith stated, "With the full operation of our Fairwater data center, Wisconsin has now become home to one of the world's most powerful supercomputers. The campus will drive next-generation artificial intelligence innovation globally and provide long-term economic opportunities for the local area through hundreds of high-skilled jobs and ongoing investment."
