Wu said that Starknet development company StarkWare released a demonstration of Private KYC with STRK20, exploring on-chain confidential identity verification on Starknet. The solution allows users to scan their passports with their phones and read NFC chips, then encrypt and bind their identity information to their Starknet account, and use zero-knowledge proofs to submit specific attributes to the chain, such as whether they are over 18 years old. Organizations can verify whether accounts meet qualification requirements without holding complete identity data such as user names, birth dates, nationalities, or document numbers. StarkWare stated that this solution is currently a working demonstration aimed at showcasing ZK identity applications to government and institutional teams.
