Aave founder Stani: If the central bank pays market interest rates on stablecoin reserve funds, a 30% deposit requirement is acceptable

ME News, June 23 (UTC+8): Aave founder Stani said that if the Bank of England (BoE) is willing to pay market interest rates on the 30% base assets that systemic stablecoins are required to keep at the central bank, he can accept this reserve requirement. Previously, the BoE proposed that part of the reserves for systemic stablecoins be held at the central bank to reduce risk; Stani’s remarks focus on whether the passive deposit interest rate can cover the opportunity cost of the “locked” assets.
