Mars Finance News, the Ethereum Foundation (EF) management team and CSA Operator Aerugo have published a systematic explanation of EF's mission. Aerugo stated that the core mission of EF is to ensure that Ethereum becomes, and continues to serve as, a truly permissionless autonomous infrastructure: censorship-resistant, capture-resistant, open source, private, and secure, capable of supporting large-scale, trustless coordination without intermediaries. He emphasized that EF's work focuses on eliminating the risks of extraction and capture at the protocol layer in Ethereum, especially the two core challenges of MEV (Maximum Extractable Value) issues and the default lack of privacy. Aerugo described MEV as "the main battleground of the next crypto-punk war," and pointed out that "a public ledger without serious privacy defaults is a surveillance infrastructure with settlement guarantees." Furthermore, EF will futurely move some of its work outside the foundation through spin-offs, but will maintain strict standards for external funding. Recent personnel departures are part of normal organizational adjustments, and EF will handle them with dignity without making personnel issues public.
