CryptoWorld News reports that, according to ZachXBT monitoring, the wallet associated with the HashFlare scam case transferred out 10,600 ETH after being dormant for 3.5 years, worth approximately $18.5 million. The funds moved from Ethereum to Bitcoin via Hifiswap and the intents feature of the NEAR Protocol and were laundered using instant exchange services. HashFlare co-founders Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin pleaded guilty in 2025 and surrendered assets worth $450 million to the U.S. government.
