$ETH Ethereum New Proposal: Up to 10% Staking Reward Allocation for Ecosystem Support
The proposal suggests that nodes allocate 0%-10% of staking rewards to subsidize on-chain infrastructure. If over half of the validators agree, it will be enforced for all.
The annual staking reward across the network is 700,000 ETH; if a 5%-10% allocation is executed, 50,000-70,000 ETH could be funneled into the ecosystem each year.
Currently, there are significant concerns: retail stakers may see their returns diluted, and large nodes could control the flow of funds. The proposal is still under community discussion and voting has not yet commenced.
