Cryptocurrency ATM network operator COINHUB announced a partnership with JR West Japan SC. It plans to install the first COINHUB cryptocurrency ATM in western Japan in Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, at the commercial facility “Tennoji MIO.” The first device is expected to be located on the 2nd floor of Plaza Building. The ATM will allow users to purchase cryptocurrencies with cash, and also to sell cryptocurrencies and withdraw cash on-site. CoinPost said that after 2018, Japanese cryptocurrency ATMs temporarily left the market due to stricter regulation, and are now redeployed only by operators that meet Financial Services Agency registration, anti-money laundering, and KYC requirements.
