The Central Military Command of Iran issued a statement through the national television, announcing the closure of the crucial Strait of Hormuz once again in response to what it described as Israel's violations of the ceasefire within Lebanon, as well as the United States' failure to fulfill the first clause of the preliminary agreement aimed at ending the war. The statement pointed out that this closure is the first step in response to the enemy’s breach of commitments. Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a preliminary ceasefire agreement. Due to Israel's recent new round of airstrikes in southern Lebanon (resulting in at least 16 deaths), the subsequent negotiations scheduled to be held in Switzerland on Friday have been postponed indefinitely.
