John Boozman: Reasons why the CLARITY Act faces resistance in the Senate
CryptoWorld News reports that the CLARITY Act faces obstacles in advancing through the Senate due to lawmakers' limited understanding of the bill.
After the meeting on June 18, core elements have reached 80%~85% consensus, and stablecoin provisions are no longer a point of contention, with the focus shifting to the ethics and conflicts of interest involving government officials participating in crypto activities.
Nage states that ethical language will be refined within a few weeks to make the bill more feasible for a vote after the July 13 recess;
Hagerty hopes to complete this before the July 4 recess, while Lummis believes a vote before the August recess is more likely.
The bill also includes $150 million to combat illegal crypto activities.
