Retail investor: I study the greeks for hours. Delta, theta, gamma, vega. Trying to master them all.

Me: & after all that... are you actually making money?
Retail investor: ...not really. I keep losing even when the greeks "line up."
Me: Because the greeks don't tell you the one thing that matters. They tell you how a contract wiggles. They tell you NOTHING about whether the company is worth owning.
Retail investor: So I'm mastering the wrong thing?
Me: You're studying the dashboard of a car & never learning to drive. I barely glance at the greeks. I care if the company is elite & trading below what it's worth.
Retail investor: So get the company & price right first?
Me: Nail those & the greeks sort themselves out. Everyone's got it backwards.
Don't drown in the greeks while ignoring the actual business...
They tell you how it wiggles, not whether it's worth owning.
Get the company & the price right. The rest follows.
