The U.S. Federal Reserve maintains interest rates at 3.50%-3.75% in the fourth consecutive meeting, just as the market predicted.
🔴 The Fed clearly shows a hawkish stance, with significant policy statement revisions
🔴 Fed's dot plot: 9 officials forecast the need to raise interest rates in 2026
The Federal Reserve's dot plot shows that out of 19 officials, only 18 submitted forecasts. Among these 18 officials, 1 predicts a total increase of 75 basis points by 2026, 5 expect a 50 basis point hike, 3 forecast a 25 basis point increase, 8 believe rates should stay unchanged, and 1 predicts a 25 basis point decrease.
One member supports raising rates three times in 2026 (no one in March). Five support two hikes, three support one hike, and eight believe rates should remain unchanged. Only one supports a single decrease.
🔴 After releasing the dot plot, the market predicts the Federal Reserve will continue to tighten policy.
🔴 The market is currently fully expecting the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by an additional 25 basis points before the end of the year.
