Zelensky said that Trump’s comments are “completely correct,” especially regarding the Crimea issue—“it was Russia’s seizure of Crimea that triggered all of this.” He added that if there had been strong leadership at the time, this war would not have happened at all. Zelensky said that all Ukrainians have one wish for President Trump: to ultimately achieve peace and succeed together with the United States and all partners. He emphasized that this is Ukraine’s most desired goal, and that full support from American society for Ukraine’s pursuit of dignity and peace is “absolutely essential.”
