Bitcoin kidnapping organizer Saif Faiq pleads guilty, faces 20 years in prison
CoinWorld News reports that, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, Saif Faiq pleaded guilty to a kidnapping conspiracy related to Bitcoin and faces up to 20 years in prison. He pleaded guilty on June 9, 2026, in a federal court in Hartford, Connecticut, admitting to conspiracy to interfere with commercial activity. Faiq and his brother Adam Iza planned to kidnap the parents of a crypto millionaire in 2024 to extort digital assets. Faiq recruited six men to go to Connecticut and assisted in surveilling the target. The conspiracy took place in Danbury, targeting Sushil and Radhika.
