He pleaded guilty on June 9, 2026, in a federal court in Hartford, Connecticut, admitting to conspiracy to interfere with commercial activity. Faiq and his brother Adam Iza planned to kidnap the parents of a crypto millionaire in 2024 to extort digital assets. Faiq recruited six men to go to Connecticut and assisted in surveilling the target. The conspiracy took place in Danbury, targeting Sushil and Radhika.
