BlockBeats message. On June 9, according to a report by Israel’s Channel 12 on Monday evening local time, U.S. President Trump said that he had warned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu not to allow the clash with Iran to escalate into a full-scale war. Trump said, “I told Bibi (that is, Netanyahu), you’d better think carefully about your actions, because very soon you may have to face Iran on your own.”

According to the report, on Sunday Trump asked Netanyahu not to carry out retaliatory strikes because of Iran’s recent missile attacks on Israel. At the end of that call, the two sides did not reach any clear consensus, and Netanyahu did not tell Trump his final decision on the matter. Afterwards, Netanyahu held consultations with senior officials from the defense department and informed U.S. Secretary of State Rubio that he had decided to launch an attack on Iran.

Trump said, “The Israelis only informed us at a very late stage. At that time, they were already on the way to strike Iran.” “I managed to reduce the scale of this attack.” Trump also revealed that five countries in the region—these countries are also involved in mediating between the U.S. and Iran—had asked him to pressure Netanyahu to stop the attacks and push forward the peace agreement process. Trump emphasized that he is still willing to reach an agreement and believes that Iran also intends to reach an agreement with the U.S.
