BlockBeats News, June 8th, according to CNN reports, U.S. President Trump recently stated in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" that he has never promised not to initiate new wars, and said "I have made no commitments." However, CNN fact-checked this and pointed out that Trump had explicitly promised multiple times during his 2024 campaign that the United States would not be involved in new wars during his second term.

The report states that Trump said at a rally in Pennsylvania in August 2024, "Under Trump, there will be no more wars, no more turmoil, we will have prosperity and peace." During an interview with internet personality Adin Ross, he also said, "There will be no more wars." Additionally, during campaign events in North Carolina and Wisconsin, Trump repeatedly reiterated the statement "no more wars."

In his 2024 victory speech, Trump also said, "They say I will start wars, I will not start wars, I will end wars." CNN pointed out that although Trump sometimes limited his statements to ending "endless wars" or preventing a "Third World War," he had indeed repeatedly promised not to involve the U.S. in new wars, so his claim in the NBC interview that he "never made any promises" is inconsistent with the public record.
