Jordan claims multiple missiles have intruded into its airspace
Golden Finance reports that on June 8, Jordan’s government spokesperson, Mohammed Mummani, said on June 8 local time that due to a further escalation of the regional situation, multiple missiles have entered Jordan’s airspace. Mummani said that Jordan’s Public Security Directorate has activated the air defense alert system and will continue to issue necessary safety guidance and related information to citizens and personnel. He said that the Jordan Armed Forces are closely monitoring developments in the regional situation, carrying out their duties, and mobilizing every force to protect the safety of the country and the people’s property.
Mummani reiterated Jordan’s warning to any party attempting to infringe on Jordan’s airspace, stressing that Jordan will not allow any forces to turn it into someone else’s battlefield. On the same day, Jordanian authorities reported that missile debris fell in the Dhnaybeh area in the northern city of Ramtha. It was reported that the missile debris fell into a local residential courtyard, and that some fragments affected several nearby residential buildings, causing property damage but no casualties. Authorities reported that no one was injured at the debris fall site, and that the damage was limited to material property. Currently, Jordanian security forces have sealed off the area where the incident occurred and are carrying out related response and disposal work on site. (CCTV News)
