After the Republican Party redraws the districts, the Democratic Party needs to win nearly 2 percentage points more to take back the House of Representatives

Golden Finance reports that on June 7th, Republican-led states completed redistricting for congressional districts.
If the Democrats want to regain the House majority in the 2026 midterm elections, they need to win nearly 5 percentage points more of the popular vote than in 2024.
Axios analysis found that the new map effectively gives the Republicans nearly a 2 percentage point advantage in the national popular vote.
Among the 10 states where districts were redrawn, Democrats currently hold 80 seats, and Republicans hold 101 seats.
Democrats only need to flip 3 seats to gain control of the House, which will determine whether Trump faces congressional checks and balances during his last two years in office.
