Gold Finance reports on June 7, according to NBC News, that U.S. President Trump said that if the two countries can reach an agreement with Iran to end their ongoing three-month war, the United States will cooperate with Iran to retrieve and destroy its highly enriched uranium; if no agreement is reached, the United States will further weaken Iran’s military power until U.S. forces can safely recover and take custody of these nuclear materials themselves. Trump also said the United States can track relevant activities through the monitoring capabilities of its “Space Force.” Trump said the two sides are “very close” to signing an agreement, but he still requires Iran to make further concessions regarding its nuclear program. Trump said he hopes to add a clause to prevent Iran from circumventing the agreement’s restrictions. Trump said the agreement originally included a clause stating they must not “develop” nuclear weapons, but he wants the wording to include “buying, procuring, or acquiring.” He added that Iran initially “showed a bit of resistance,” but “later it was no longer an issue.”
