巫師3 DLC舊時曲解析》希里會登場?有新地圖?挖掘第三把劍、神秘樹妖秘辛
CDPR announces that the new DLC for "The Witcher 3" titled "Songs of the Past" will be released in 2027. Witchers, through official celebration images and novel clues, speculate about five major story details including a new map, mysterious tree monster, and the possible appearance of Ciri.
New DLC "Songs of the Past" for The Witcher 3: CDPR confirms more Gwent cards
Polish game giant CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recently announced that the latest DLC expansion for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," titled "Songs of the Past," is expected to be released in 2027, with the game having sold 65 million copies.
In REDstreams, the official revealed little information, only confirming there will be more Gwent cards, and that the DLC will be comparable in scale to "Blood and Wine." Clues about the story are hidden in the May Festival celebration image, with detailed information to be revealed at Gamescom.
Analysis of "Songs of the Past" DLC for The Witcher 3: Witchers uncover five details
Two days after the official livestream, on May 30, 2026, well-known "Witcher scholar" Neon Knight uploaded an analysis video. By cross-referencing game assets, official visual images, and the original novels, he inferred five major details about the "Songs of the Past" DLC, including potential content:
Geralt’s third sword
As is well known, Geralt has two swords, a silver sword for monsters and a steel sword for humans. But in the visual images for "Songs of the Past," a third sword appears, and CDPR mentioned in the livestream that this sword is very important.
According to Neon Knight’s observations, the two swords behind Geralt in the visual are just default promotional swords added during the next-gen update of "The Witcher 3," but the sword he is holding clearly has features of an elven sword.

Neon Knight spent hours comparing various weapons in "The Witcher 3," and found that the hilt of this sword has three circles on each end, identical to the elven silver sword in the game.
The floral design at the end of the sword’s handle also resembles many elven weapons, and the scabbard is almost identical to the one used by Ciri, Geralt’s adopted daughter, although the scabbard style in "The Witcher 3" isn’t very varied.
Connection between story and May Festival Easter egg
Neon Knight mentioned that, three weeks before announcing "Songs of the Past," CDPR released a celebratory image for the elven festival "May Festival," which included Geralt’s friend: Dandelion the bard.
He discovered that the elven sword in the visual for "Songs of the Past" coincidentally fell onto the grass in the lower left corner of the May Festival image, and both images feature burning flames.

Additionally, on the tree in the background of the May Festival image, a monster’s arm is hanging, which almost perfectly matches the tree spirit’s arm behind Geralt in the DLC visual, and the official livestream also confirmed that the May Festival image contains story details.
The true face of the mysterious tree spirit
Although the tree spirit in the visual resembles a Leshen, Neon Knight believes this monster more closely matches the treant (or oak critter) from the original novel "Tower of the Swallow."
The novel describes this type of monster as a giant tree with a large hollow in the center used to swallow prey, which perfectly matches the features of the creature in the visual.
Neon Knight also pointed out that the claws of the tree spirit in the "Songs of the Past" visual are very similar to the illustration of the treant card in Gwent.

Rumors of a new map, Sedaris
Local rumors in Poland suggest that the background of "Songs of the Past" will be set in Sedaris (Cidaris), a small kingdom west of Velen, built on the ruins of an elven city.
Neon Knight finds this rumor very convincing because the expansion’s name is "Songs of the Past," and Dandelion appears in related celebration images. In the original novels, Dandelion’s family has deep roots in Sedaris, and he was also employed by the king of that country.

Since CDPR emphasizes that "Songs of the Past" will be comparable in scope to "Blood and Wine," Neon Knight speculates that this likely means a brand-new exploration map will be included, as "Blood and Wine" introduced the Toussaint map.
Connection to "The Witcher 4"
CDPR revealed that currently, up to 190 employees are working on the "Songs of the Past" DLC, including their partner studio Fool’s Theory. Compared to the 240 staff members involved in the original launch of "The Witcher 3," this is already a sizable development team.
In recent financial reports, CDPR also indicated that "Songs of the Past" can, to some extent, be seen as a prelude to "The Witcher 4." Considering that Yennefer and Ciri’s birthdays are both on May 1, and the story may involve elves (Ciri has ancient elven blood), Neon Knight speculates that Ciri might play a certain role in the DLC.
In "The Witcher 3" DLC "Stone Heart," Ciri does not appear; in "Blood and Wine," her appearance depends on the player’s ending in the main game. If the ending is the "Lone Wolf," she visits at the end, serving as more of an Easter egg. Therefore, if "Songs of the Past" increases Ciri’s involvement, it will likely heighten player anticipation.
