According to FOX5, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford warned residents that cryptocurrency self-service kiosks / Bitcoin ATMs inside convenience stores and gas stations are being used by scammers to transfer funds. The report states that scammers often impersonate relatives or legitimate organization personnel, creating a sense of urgency through phone calls, text messages, emails, or pop-up windows, to induce victims to deposit cash into cryptocurrency self-service kiosks and transfer it to designated wallets. It is reported that in 2025, scam reports related to cryptocurrency self-service kiosks resulted in losses exceeding $389 million, with a higher proportion of elderly victims.
