Mars Finance News: On June 7, it was reported that in recent years, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the "Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)" industry in Asia has been severely impacted, especially in the outsourcing labor markets of India and the Philippines. "Business Process Outsourcing" refers to companies delegating non-core tasks to third parties to reduce costs and focus on core business development. This industry includes data entry, document and invoice processing, customer inquiries and complaint handling, document verification, and other basic tasks. BPO work is highly repetitive, making it easily replaceable by AI. Some analysts also believe that AI technology will not uniformly "create jobs" or "eliminate jobs" worldwide, but will instead redefine global division of labor. Regions with concentrated technology and capital will gain high-value new jobs, while areas that once relied on low-cost labor, such as India and the Philippines, traditional outsourcing centers, may face job losses and industrial hollowing out, thereby exacerbating inequality.
