BlockBeats News, June 6th, the U.S. Central Command announced that on Friday local time in Iran, 7 ballistic missiles were launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain. The U.S. military successfully intercepted 6 of them, with 1 missing the target. Additionally, earlier that day, the U.S. also shot down 4 Iranian drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz, and subsequently struck some Iranian coastal surveillance radar facilities to prevent further attacks.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard stated that their targets included the Kuwaiti Ali Salim Air Base, which hosts U.S. troops, and the U.S. Fifth Fleet located in Bahrain. The Kuwaiti military said they participated in intercepting the incoming missiles and drones, and Bahrain briefly sounded air raid sirens.

Despite ongoing clashes, Trump still stated that "the Iran situation seems to be progressing quite smoothly," claiming that whether through diplomatic agreements or tougher measures, the U.S. will "resolve the Iran issue very soon." Trump also revealed that Iran currently still has about 21%-22% missile stockpiles.

Previously, U.S. and Iranian negotiators reached a preliminary agreement to extend the ceasefire by 60 days and to initiate a new round of nuclear negotiations. However, due to Trump's demand for modifications to the agreement, Iran has not publicly accepted it, and the fragile ceasefire remains under pressure.

Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to increase pressure on Iran, not only maintaining a blockade of Iranian ports but also inspecting a sanctioned oil tanker related to Iran in the Indian Ocean, and announcing new sanctions on individuals, companies, and oil tankers involved in Iran's energy sector.

Additionally, the Lebanese government and Israel recently signed a ceasefire agreement under U.S. mediation, but Hezbollah refused to accept the arrangement. The Israeli military continued airstrikes in several areas in southern Lebanon on Friday, and ordered residents of 9 villages to evacuate, resulting in at least 9 deaths. Analysts believe that the escalation of Lebanon's situation could further impact Iran's ceasefire negotiations and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
