BlockBeats News, June 6 — Just days after Israel and Lebanon signed a ceasefire agreement, the situation between the two sides has worsened again. According to the Lebanese military, on the 6th, the Israeli military carried out an airstrike on a military vehicle in the Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of a brigadier general, a captain, and another soldier. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack as a serious violation of Lebanese sovereignty and international law.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed they carried out the strike, stating that there was "suspicious activity" in the area where the vehicle was located. Intelligence suggests it may involve Hezbollah operations. They are currently investigating the incident and emphasized that the target was not the Lebanese military.

Additionally, on the same day, the Israeli military also launched an airstrike on the village of Sakhsaqiyeh in southern Lebanon, causing at least 6 civilian deaths and injuring 4 others. The Lebanese military accused Israel of ongoing military actions that are undermining the ceasefire and withdrawal process.

Analysts pointed out that, just as both sides had recently signed a ceasefire agreement and the U.S. was pushing for a new round of peace proposals, this attack resulting in the death of a senior Lebanese military officer could pose a new test for the already fragile ceasefire situation.
