On the eve of SpaceX's IPO, Google announced the signing of a nearly three-year computing power procurement agreement. Starting from October 2026, Google will pay $920 million per month to access approximately 110k NVIDIA GPUs within SpaceX's data centers. This is seen as a dual signal of large tech companies facing a shortage of computing power and SpaceX transforming into a computing power leasing giant. This agreement is considered one of the largest commercial contracts in the global AI computing power market to date.
Google stated that as demand for enterprise AI services like Gemini Enterprise rapidly grows, existing infrastructure can no longer meet customer needs, so external procurement is needed to quickly supplement computing power reserves. This cooperation also reflects that the competition among large tech companies for AI infrastructure has entered a new stage, with computing power becoming the most important strategic resource after data and models.
For SpaceX, this deal further strengthens its position as an AI infrastructure provider. Previously, Anthropic had signed a long-term computing power agreement with SpaceX. With both contracts taking effect simultaneously, SpaceX is expected to generate over $26 billion annually in AI-related revenue, providing significant support for its upcoming IPO. $SPCX
