Carmacule Underground City and Derinkuyu

The two largest underground cities,
Essentially built over 1,000 years ago
By border residents of Byzantium, also known as the Eastern Roman Empire.
At that time, the Arab Empire was constantly invading Anatolia,
Cappadocia was on the strategic route leading to Constantinople,
Today’s Istanbul, with frequent wars and plundering.
Because the local volcanic tuff was very easy to carve,
Residents dug out massive underground cities,
With housing, kitchens, wine cellars, churches, livestock pens, and ventilation systems.
When enemies attacked, the entire village could
Hide underground for weeks or even months,
Sealing the entrance with huge stone doors,
Therefore, these underground cities are called
Medieval-style doomsday shelters.
Until the Battle of Manzikert in 1071,
When Turkish forces entered Anatolia,
The front line moved east, and the underground cities gradually fell into disuse.
But no matter how they hide,
They cannot escape the cascade liquidation of Ethereum $ETH .
