David Schwartz, Chief Technology Officer at Ripple, presented the new roadmap for the XRP Ledger (XRPL), highlighting the network’s transition toward an ecosystem dominated by the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and decentralized finance (DeFi). Through the “XRP in a Minute” video series, the executive explained how the ledger evolved from hosting its native asset to allowing the issuance of complex instruments, positioning itself as the key infrastructure for the institutional future.

What draws attention to the plan is the migration of traditional banking toward the blockchain. In this regard, Schwartz indicated that companies are already using XRPL to issue stablecoins and tokenized securities, and will soon expand to money market funds, stocks, loans, and repurchase agreements (repos) on the blockchain. This enterprise-level integration will inject massive liquidity into the ecosystem, serving as the ultimate bridge for large-scale retail adoption.
