U.S. stocks close with the Nasdaq down over 4%, most semiconductor stocks decline

BlockBeats news. On June 6, U.S. stocks closed on Friday. The Dow Jones initially fell 1.35%, the S&P 500 index dropped 2.65% (ending a continuous 9-week uptrend), and the Nasdaq fell 4.18%. Among them, the S&P 500 index recorded its largest single-day decline since October 2025; the Nasdaq also recorded its largest single-day decline since April 2025.

Most of the semiconductor sector fell. By the end of trading, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index’s decline widened to 10%, its largest single-day decline since April 2025. NVIDIA (NVDA.O) fell more than 6%, TSMC (TSM.N) fell 6.68%, Broadcom (AVGO.O) fell nearly 8%, and Intel (INTC.O) fell more than 11%.
