Gate finally made my USDT “come alive”—I used to only be able to buy coins, now I can buy the whole world
Back then on Gate, there weren’t actually many things I could do: buy coins, manage investments, and trade contracts. Most of the time, my USDT sat in my account in investment products, earning interest—about 5% annualized. It was stable, but I always felt like the money wasn’t “working.”
After Gate launched stock trading, my USDT suddenly gained several new ways to be used. In addition to earning interest through investments, I could also use it to buy U.S. stocks. This isn’t a problem of cash flow—it’s a matter of asset allocation. It’s still the same USDT, but its use cases have expanded.
There’s one scenario I find especially interesting: on June 3, when the crypto market saw a major selloff and BTC dropped by more than 7%, I checked Gate, withdrew some USDT from my investment account, and bought a little NVDA. The money moved from one market to another—no withdrawals, no currency exchanges—just a few taps on the screen.
Traditional U.S. stock users can’t do this. You would need to convert dollars to USDT, or do it the other way around, and there are exchange costs and waiting times in between. Gate has connected this loop. Once the asset-conversion channel is open, USDT truly becomes “alive.”
Now, the USDT in my account is split up: part earns interest through investments, part is cash waiting to buy the dip in U.S. stocks, and maybe a tiny bit of leftover to buy some spot. Managing everything in one app is convenience I didn’t even expect at the beginning.
