France's first-quarter GDP decreased by 0.1% month-on-month

The final data released by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies on the 29th shows that in the first quarter of this year, France's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 0.1% quarter-on-quarter, below the previous forecast of zero growth by the agency. The data shows that in the first quarter, French household consumption decreased by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter; affected by reduced energy consumption, goods consumption fell by 0.7%. After excluding inventory factors, the contribution of final domestic demand to GDP growth was negative 0.2 percentage points. Due to a decline in aircraft product exports, France's exports in the first quarter fell sharply by 3.5% quarter-on-quarter, while imports decreased by 0.9%.
